Parents and Community Members,
Welcome to the Dr. Albert M. Bean School!
We are a neighborhood school serving students in grades Pre-K through 5th grade. Our students have all core subjects, as well as related arts classes including library, art, music, physical education, and computers. All the teachers and staff at the Bean School work together to create a positive, nurturing learning environment for our students.
Our innovative curriculum prepares students for the 21st century through cooperative learning techniques, guided reading and writing across the curriculum and the latest methods in mathematics instruction. Students utilize technology through a computer lab, computers in every classroom and distance learning. Higher level thinking is fostered through real-life learning situations.
Community and parent involvement is essential and there are a variety of opportunities to become involved. Parents are encouraged to join and participate in the Bean School PTO, serve as a member of the School Site Council, a school based management group, and/or volunteer in the classroom. We welcome parent volunteers and prearranged visits are always welcome!
To foster school spirit and enhance the positive and peaceful school climate the following programs are in place including: Peer Mediation, Student Ambassadors, Safety Patrol, Honor Roll, Lunch with the Principal, School Spirit Days and Just Kids Child care.
It is my pleasure to serve as the principal of the Dr. Albert M. Bean School. Myself, along with the dedicated staff appreciate your support and look forward to working with our students. With parents and teachers working together, I know we can build a successful school year for every child.
